It is a sad state of the union, to have such organizations as the ACOG fall in line with the totalitarian trend of current politics.
As a democratic society, aren’t we supposed to trust in the intelligence of our people?
Fear is a tactic used to quiet the masses. Limiting access to information is another tactic to keep a population under control. What creates more fear than the statement, your putting your baby at risk? Why do so many doctors fail to mention a VBAC as an option after a Cesarean? Doctors don’t offer VBACs, not because they are concerned about the patient, but because they are concerned about their insurance.
It is not an easy task to question current establishments, it is not easy to ignore the fear these groups penetrate the media with, and it is not easy to stand up for yourself in the face of authority. But it is our duty to cling to the democratic rights our forefathers gave us, it is our duty to take the time to educate ourselves. In education we find the power and justification to make the right choices for ourselves.
